Alive After Five Returns April 3
Warm weather is finally starting to move back into the Queen City, which can only mean on thing, it’s time to kick-start the weekend in style with Charlotte’s summertime tradition – Alive After Five (AA5).
For the first time in its 13 year history, AA5 will kick off on Thursday, April 3, at 5 p.m. at EPICENTRE, 210 E Trade Street, not Wells Fargo Plaza. The 2014 season is now bigger and better than ever, and will feature an explosive performance by premiere party band, Groovetown, on the Bud Light Stage. Featuring top performing vocalists, an all out groovy horn section and of course a sultry party swagger, there is no show Groovetown can’t handle.
On Thursday, April 10, AA5 regular Sol Fusion will get the party started. Sol Fusion is what occurs when the most educated and experienced musicians and vocalists unite, each bringing his or her individual strengths and expertise in genre, style and presence. So much more than just another band, Sol Fusion is an indefinable blend of musical greatness; it is an experience not to be missed.
Rubberband, the complete cheese-free, no gimmicks band, will take the stage on Thursday, April 17. Rubberband provides great entertainment, delivered with an edge and attitude rarely found in the world of live private party entertainment.
On Thursday, April 24, Early Ray will add a little extra twang to the AA5 band lineup. This young, energetic act has already made a huge impact on the music scene, playing everything from Zac Brown Band and Jason Aldean to Old Crow Medicine Show and Mumford and Sons.
Stay tuned for more details to come on The Commons bands, which will play live on the main level of EPICENTRE every Thursday evening from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m.
In the biggest news to break this summer, for the very first time, on Thursday, April 3, EPICENTRE is offering free parking. All attendees who park in the EPICENTRE parking deck will be able to validate their parking at AA5.
Also new this season is the introduction of EPICENTRE’s new premiere special events venue, Rooftop 210. Perched high above Charlotte’s most popular nightspot, Rooftop 210 in an open-air rooftop venue that boasts a spacious layout, contemporary design and breathtaking views of the Charlotte skyline. Rooftop 210 will also host AA5 throughout the season.
“Alive After Five would not be celebrating 13 wonderful years in uptown without support. The city of Charlotte continues to grow and we plan to grow right along with it, by continuously providing the ultimate summer happy hour and live music experience,” said Larry Farber of East Coast Entertainment.
After the sun sets on AA5, the party won’t stop at EPICENTRE’s hottest locations. Wristbands, which will be distributed at each entrance, guarantees the attendee free cover for the night to Whisky River, SUITE, StrikeCity, Bubble, Vida, BlackFinn and EpiCentre’s newest venue VidaVida. All wristbands will be given to those 21 and up.
No celebration is complete without the ultimate dining experience. Each Thursday during AA5, all restaurants at EPICENTRE will offer special menus, allowing guests to enjoy multi-course feasts at their favorite eateries for discounted prices.
